Tech Treks
Build your first full-stack project with a small team, workshops, and guidance from a PM.
Overview
Five groups of 3-4 students each choose a project idea to develop over the semester. At two weekly meetings, groups work on their projects and attend workshops covering software engineering fundamentals. Members may also tour NYC tech company offices before presenting their projects to the tech@nyu community.
Outcomes
Build with a team
A project for your portfolio or resume. A community of builders at a similar stage.
Learn the fundamentals
Technical and career guidance from PMs and program leads. Software engineering fundamentals taught through workshops.
Expectations
Requirements
- Attend two one-hour meetings each week.
- Meet and collaborate with your group outside scheduled meetings.
- Present your project at the end-of-semester showcase.
Deliverables
- A collaborative full-stack application.
- Consistent participation throughout the semester.
- A final presentation with a demonstration of the project.
